Polkadot Parachain to Change Universe SDK Now With Adoriasoft

Adoriasoft is making it possible for Polkadot parachain to replace Cosmos SDK. It will enable chains that are built with Cosmos SDK to be a Polkadot parachain. There are many developers on the Cosmos ecosystem building applications with the Cosmos SDK. The problem is that the Cosmos ecosystem does not provide a system for shared security. Therefore, these developers are forced to bootstrap their own security networks.

Adriasoft project seeks to provide developers in the Cosmos ecosystem the security and resource benefits of Polkadot. Thus, allowing more developers to create applications with blockchain-level security easily.

What Edge Does Polkadot Parachain have over Cosmos SDK?

If Adoriasoft seeks to make chains built with the Cosmos SDK to be a Polkadot parachain, there must be a catch. They cannot be moving for Polkadot parachain to replace Cosmos SDK if there is no apparent benefit.

What could this benefit be?

Unlike the Cosmos SDK that does not provide a system for shared security, the Polkadot architecture provides a method to share security between the parachains and the Polkadot relay chain. The Polkadot relay chain ensures system-wide coherence. This enables developers to focus more on the business logic of their apps. The implication is that developers do not need to be blockchain security experts before they can build blockchain-secure applications.

How Adoriasoft Can Replace Cosmos SDK with Polkadot Parachain

Each separate blockchain in the Cosmos architecture is called a “Zone.” Every Zone is connected to a central chain known as a hub. The hub facilitates the interaction between Zones. However, these Zones are independent of each other and are responsible for their security, governance, and economics. Also, Cosmos nodes deploy the Tendermint Core for its consensus and network layers. Meanwhile, the Cosmos application and Tendermint-powered consensus and network layers are decoupled for improved flexibility.

Adoriasoft aims to build Cosmos SDK-based apps for the Polkadot consensus mechanism. Polkadot uses the Substrate for all of its layers, and Adoriasoft seeks to replace Tendermint with Substrate. They will mirror Cosmos’ application blockchain interface (ABCI) and remote procedure calls (RPCs) with Substrate compatible ones. Conclusively, they aim to connect Cosmos apps to the Polkadot Relay Chain. If Adoriasoft’s project succeeds, then there is a high possibility that Polkadot parachain will replace Cosmos SDK in the future.

The Cosmos SDK parachain Development Kit enables developers to host their existing Cosmos chain on Polkadot. Adoriasoft is looking to take this a step further, and they stand a good chance.
